ID 2069 The West Fork of the Carson River flows through Hope Valley along the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. Quaternary glacial and alluvial deposits underlie Hope Valley in the Toiyabe National Forest. Between 1848 and 1851, over 70,000 pioneers, passed through Hope Valley along the Emigrant Trail en route to the California gold fields.
