This sonic drilling rig was used to collect continuous core in order to characterize the heterogeneity, water-bearing zones, and contaminant distribution in Quaternary alluvial fan deposits. The depth to the Mesozoic granitic basement in this area ranged from approximately 200 to 250 feet below the ground surface. |
